Critical Role Season Four Unveils the Warriors Group

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could help the team enter locations they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.

This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.

What’s Next?

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Explorers and Planners parties.

Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on next week.
